I believe whitehat stuff is very important in building a long term web based business. However, I also think that there is strong case for at least having a bit of a dabble within gray/blackhat areas, so long as they are not going to get you into trouble with the big boys. I aint talking about all those self promoting gurus, I am on about the Internet gods, Google and Yahoo.

A lot of the myths of “you shouldn’t touch the grey to black stuff” comes from three different types of people.

1/ The ones that tried it and made so many mistakes that they got banned.

2/ The ones that were too scared to try it but tried to put others off in case it worked.

3/ The ones that are doing it and making shit loads of money and don’t want you too.
